Thirty-five years in the same city

Sougat Travel & Tourism started in Deira in 1990, when most of what visitors now come to Dubai for did not yet exist. We were booking desert trips and airport transfers out of a small office long before there was a skyline to photograph.

That length of time is not a boast, it is the reason we can tell you which operator actually turns up, which attraction is unbearable in August, and which itinerary looks good on paper and does not work on the ground.

What happens when something goes wrong

Most of a tour operator's value is invisible until a boat is cancelled or a flight lands late. This is the part worth comparing.

What actually happens after you message us

The table above claims dealing with us is different from dealing with a listing site. That is easy to say, so here is the actual sequence, including the step everyone else leaves out.

01You send us the dates
WhatsApp, email or the form. No account, no card, no deposit to find out what something costs. The message reaches the operations desk in Deira, not a call centre.
If it is outside Dubai business hours you will get a reply first thing rather than an auto-responder pretending to be a person.
02We come back with a written price
Itemised: what is included, what is not, pickup point and time, and the total in AED. For the UAE tours you can also just book it yourself on the site at the same price.
If we cannot do what you have asked for on those dates, we say so and tell you what we can do instead. We do not quote something adjacent and hope you will not notice.
03Confirmation names the company you are dealing with
Every confirmation names Sougat Travel & Tourism LLC and the Deira office address, so you can check the operator before you travel rather than after.
Payments are taken on the group’s licensed payment account, so the charge on your card statement reads SOUGAT TOURS. If that is not what you expected to see, tell us and we will send the receipt.
04Your driver is assigned, and named
The day before, you get the vehicle, the driver's name and the pickup window — from our own fleet on the routes we run most, not whichever supplier answered first.
Flight landed late? Tell us and the transfer moves. It does not leave without you and reappear as a no-show charge.
05On the day, one number
The same WhatsApp thread you started in. Not a ticket queue, not a different department — the people on it can actually change your booking.
06If it goes wrong, we fix it that day
Weather closes a route, a supplier lets us down, plans change at 6am. We rebook, reroute or refund according to the policy on your confirmation, and you deal with one company throughout.
This is the whole reason the page above compares us with listing sites. When a marketplace booking fails, you are negotiating between two companies who each think it is the other's problem.

Nothing above is a promise we invented for this page — it is what our confirmations already say. If your experience differs from it, that is a complaint we want to hear, on the same number.

Who you are actually contracting with

That is the entity named on your booking confirmation and the entity responsible for delivering it. Our landline is answered by the same office — +971 4 269 5950 — and our team is reachable on WhatsApp from 9am to 9pm, seven days a week.

A Note from our Founder

Kifayat Ullah started Sougat in 1990, in a small office in Deira, with a telephone and a great deal more determination than capital. Dubai then was not the city on the postcards. There was no Burj Khalifa, no Marina, no queue of visitors arriving to see a skyline. There were traders, a creek, and a handful of people who believed the place was going to become something.

The early years were not romantic. Everything was done by hand — itineraries written out, seats confirmed by phone, guests met at the airport personally because there was nobody else to send. Work was won one customer at a time, and kept by turning up when it would have been easier not to. Resources were thin enough that every booking mattered, and that habit never quite left the company.

Thirty-five years later the city has changed beyond recognition and Sougat is still in Deira, still answering its own phone. The fleet is larger, the destinations reach past the Gulf into Southeast Asia, and there are people here who have been on the team for the better part of two decades. What has not changed is the standard he set when there was nothing to fall back on: say what you will do, then do it.

He would tell you none of this is remarkable — that anyone who shows up every day for thirty-five years ends up somewhere. The people who have worked with him would tell you that is exactly the remarkable part.
