About This Experience
Global Village is Dubai's biggest seasonal event and one of the best-value nights out in the city. Open from October to April, it brings together country pavilions, street food, live entertainment and a full carnival on one enormous site — and entry costs a fraction of the city's other attractions.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The pavilions
Dozens of pavilions represent more than 80 countries, each selling crafts, textiles, spices, sweets and souvenirs from home. India, Turkey, Iran, Egypt, Thailand and Morocco are among the largest, and the buildings themselves are built to echo each country's landmarks.
The food
Arguably the real reason to come. Street food from every represented country, from Turkish gozleme and Egyptian koshari to Filipino grills and Indian chaat, at prices far below Dubai restaurant norms.
Carnival and shows
A large funfair runs alongside the pavilions with rides and games, and the stage programme includes concerts, cultural performances and regular fireworks.
GOOD TO KNOW
It opens late afternoon and runs to midnight, so evenings are the time to go — and weeknights are considerably quieter than Thursday to Saturday. Wear comfortable shoes: the site is very large and you will walk a lot. Rides and food are paid separately from entry. The season runs roughly October to April, so it is closed through the summer.
