Vietnam Holiday Packages

A long, narrow country best travelled end to end — Hanoi's Old Quarter, an overnight junk among the karsts of Ha Long Bay, the lantern-lit lanes of Hoi An and the waterways of the Mekong Delta.

North to South

Vietnam is a journey, not a single stop

The north gives you Hanoi and Ha Long Bay, the centre gives you Hue, Hoi An and Da Nang, and the south gives you Saigon, the Mekong Delta and the beaches at Mui Ne. Our shorter itineraries pick one region and do it properly; the seven- and nine-day routes travel the length of the country by internal flight.

Planning a trip to Vietnam

Vietnam stretches more than 1,600 kilometres from the Chinese border to the Mekong Delta, so the honest question is not what to see but how far you want to travel. Five days is enough for the north — Hanoi, Ha Long Bay and the karst landscape at Ninh Binh. Add a day or two and Da Nang, Hoi An and the Ba Na Hills come within reach. Nine days lets you take in Hue, Saigon and the Delta as well, moving between regions by internal flight rather than road.

Ha Long Bay is the one thing worth building the trip around. A day cruise shows you the islands; an overnight on a wooden junk gives you the bay at dusk and dawn, when the day boats have gone. Several of our itineraries include the overnight option, and it is usually the part guests remember.

All itineraries are private, with an English-speaking guide and air-conditioned transfers, and are quoted on request rather than sold at a fixed price online. If you would like to combine Vietnam with the temples of Angkor, our eight-day Vietnam and Cambodia itinerary does exactly that.
