Dubai Ice Rink is an Olympic-sized rink sitting on the ground floor of The Dubai Mall, directly beneath the Burj Khalifa. Skating in the middle of a desert city is exactly as incongruous as it sounds, and that is much of the appeal — 1,500 square metres of ice, whatever the temperature outside.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The rink
Full Olympic dimensions, so there is genuine room to skate rather than shuffle in a circle. Sessions run 90 minutes, with music and periodic indoor snowfall effects overhead.
For beginners
Skate aids — the penguin and seal frames — are available for children and nervous first-timers, and they make an enormous difference. Skate hire is included in the ticket, and staff are on the ice throughout.
Session types
General sessions suit most visitors; the rink also runs themed and disco sessions at certain times, which are livelier and more popular with teenagers and groups.
GOOD TO KNOW
Wear or bring thick socks — they make hired boots far more comfortable. Gloves are strongly recommended, especially for children who will fall. Long trousers are sensible on the ice. Book ahead at weekends and during school holidays, when sessions fill.

Please download the ticket from the agent dashboard. Reach the venue 30 minutes prior to the time slot booked. Present the ticket at the counter and receive the entry band for access to the skating session.
Important Information
- Please ensure you carry a valid ID or passport with you.
- Transfers are only provided from centrally located hotels and residences in Dubai city (Deira, Bur Dubai, Sheikh Zayed, Marina).
- Transfer timings may be modified as per the trip schedule by 30 to 60 minutes, depending on traffic conditions and your location.
- The ideal age to begin ice skating is 3 years. Children under 100cm must be accompanied by an adult at all times and will be given a complimentary helmet for their safety.
- For safety reasons, long dresses, national attire, or trailing clothing are not allowed during ice skating.
- Guests are required to wear comfortable warm clothing, thick socks and gloves.
- Pregnant ladies and people with any physical injury are not allowed for this activity.
- Eating, drinking, and smoking are strictly prohibited inside the vehicle during tours with transfer services, as per our terms and conditions.
