Wild Wadi is Dubai's original waterpark and still one of its best-positioned: it sits on Jumeirah Beach directly opposite the Burj Al Arab, so you ride with the sail-shaped hotel filling the skyline. Around thirty rides and attractions are packed into a compact site, themed loosely on the tale of Juha.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Jumeirah Sceirah
The park's signature ride: a near-vertical free-fall slide that launches you through a trapdoor and reaches serious speed in seconds. It remains one of the tallest and fastest freefall slides in the region, and the queue moves fast.
Master Blasters
Wild Wadi's clever trick is uphill water jets that fire rafts up as well as down, linking rides across the park into long continuous runs rather than a single drop and a walk back.
For families
Breaker's Bay delivers some of the largest wave pool swells in the region, Juha's Journey is a gentle 360-metre lazy river, and Juha's Dhow and Lagoon is a dedicated children's area with smaller slides and play structures.
GOOD TO KNOW
Plan a full day. Lockers and towels are available on site, and food outlets are spread through the park. Reef-safe sunscreen and a rash vest are sensible for the middle of the day — there is limited shade between rides.
