iFLY Dubai Indoor Skydiving

iFLY Dubai recreates the sensation of freefall inside a vertical wind tunnel — a column of air moving fast enough to hold a human body in flight. There is no aircraft, no parachute and no jump, which removes almost every barrier that keeps people from trying skydiving.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Training first

You start with a briefing covering body position and the hand signals your instructor uses inside the tunnel, where it is far too loud to speak. Chin up, hips forward, arms relaxed — that is essentially the whole technique.

Your flights

Flights are sold in sets, each lasting about a minute — which sounds short until you realise a real skydive gives you roughly 60 seconds of freefall too. An instructor is in the tunnel with you for every flight, steadying you and adjusting your position.

Going higher

Once you are stable, instructors can take you on a high-fly: gripping you and riding the airflow up and down the full height of the tunnel. It is usually the highlight, and it is included in the larger packages.

GOOD TO KNOW

Open to flyers from age three upward, which makes it one of the very few genuine adrenaline activities the whole family can do together. Weight limits apply, and it is not suitable for anyone with shoulder or back injuries or who is pregnant. Wear comfortable clothes and trainers; flight suit, helmet and goggles are provided.
