اس تجربے کے بارے میں
Eight days and seven nights across two countries and four bases: two nights in Hanoi, one aboard a junk in Ha Long Bay, two in Hoi An and two in Siem Reap. Transfers are private and air-conditioned, with an English-speaking guide for guided time. It suits a first trip taking in northern and central Vietnam alongside the temples of Angkor rather than one country in depth.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Hanoi, A Cyclo And The Water Puppets
You are met at Noi Bai airport and driven into central Hanoi; check-in is from 14:00, the early check-in surcharge is not included and no meals are provided on arrival day. The next day opens at the Ho Chi Minh Complex, with the mausoleum of the nation's founder, closed on Mondays, Fridays and throughout November, the One Pillar Pagoda and the Temple of Literature, the first university of Vietnam. Lunch at a local restaurant is on your own account. The afternoon covers the Ethnologic Museum, closed on Mondays and devoted to Vietnam's 54 ethnic groups, a cyclo tour of the Old Quarter and an evening water puppet performance.
A Night On A Junk In Ha Long Bay
A three-hour drive through the Red River Delta reaches Ha Long City and a refurbished sailing junk. The cruise runs between the limestone cliffs and emerald water of this World Heritage Site, with a fresh seafood lunch on board, swimming and caves in the afternoon, sunset from the deck and dinner before the captain anchors near a remote island; night fishing is optional. On this leg the English-speaking guide is on board only, and the programme inside the bay varies from cruise to cruise. Next morning brings an early dip, sunrise and breakfast, then kayaking in quieter corners of the bay.
Ba Na Hills, The Golden Bridge And Hoi An
You return to the harbour around midday and drive three hours to Noi Bai for the flight to Da Nang and on to Hoi An. Next morning a car and guide collect you between 08:00 and 08:15 for the cable car up to Ba Na Hills, the nine gardens of Le Jardin D'Amour, the Golden Bridge and the French Village, with a buffet lunch at 12:30 and Fantasy Park at your own expense. Day six is on foot in Hoi An Old Town, past merchant houses that have stood 200 years, the Japanese Covered Bridge, more than 400 years old, and the Phuc Kien Chinese Assembly Hall. Vietnam on its own is our six-day North and Central Vietnam itinerary.
Angkor And The Final Morning
An afternoon transfer to Da Nang airport is followed by the flight to Siem Reap, where an English-speaking guide meets you. The temple day begins at Angkor Wat, built as the Khmer Empire prospered between the 9th and 13th centuries, with carved hallways and shrines still in use locally, then Ta Prohm, whose fig roots have merged with the stone. Lunch is on your own account. Late afternoon is for Angkor Thom and the faces of the Bayon, the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King. The final morning is free until your airport transfer. For more of Cambodia, see our six-day Cambodia Classic itinerary.

Hanoi - Ha Long Bay Cruise
After breakfast at the hotel, a three-hour drive through the Red River Delta brings you to Ha Long City, where you transfer to a refurbished sailing junk. The cruise runs between the limestone cliffs and emerald waters of Ha Long Bay, past some 3,000 limestone islands of this World Heritage Site. A sumptuous fresh local seafood lunch is served on board, followed by swimming and exploring some of the limestone caves in the area, and sunset from the boat. Dinner is served on board and the captain then anchors for the night near a remote island, with the option of night fishing or simply sitting out on deck under the stars. The English-speaking guide is on board only, and the itinerary within Ha Long Bay differs between cruises.
Ha Long Bay - Hanoi - Da Nang - Hoi An
Waking surrounded by the tranquil beauty of the bay, there is time for an early morning dip and for watching the sunrise over the sea before breakfast. The cruise continues around the bay to more secluded areas, where you kayak and swim, with the junk close by at all times as a backup vessel for those who need it. At around midday you return to the main harbour and transfer to your waiting vehicle for the three-hour journey to Noi Bai Airport and your flight to Da Nang. On arrival you are picked up and transferred to your hotel in Hoi An for the night. An English-speaking guide is on board the junk and with you in Da Nang.
Hoi An - Ba Na Hills - Golden Bridge - Hoi An
Between 08:00 and 08:15 the car and tour guide collect you from the hotel lobby, and you reach Ba Na Hills by cable car, travelling through the hills with the primitive forest below and then on by the Climbing Train. You come to Le Jardin D'Amour, which consists of nine gardens, Ling Ung Pagoda and the Golden Bridge, and continue to the French Village with its unique architectural works, the peak of Chua Mountain, Linh Chua Linh Tu Temple and Tru Vu Tea Shop. Buffet lunch is at 12:30. Fantasy Park, one of the largest indoor games zones in Vietnam, is at your own expense. At 15:00 you return to the cable car to go down the mountain, and the car brings you back to your hotel between 16:45 and 17:45.
Hoi An City Tour - Da Nang - Siem Reap
The morning starts on foot in Hoi An Old Town, among remarkably well-preserved old houses that have withstood 200 years of weather and war, and the story of the prosperous merchants who lived in them and traded with buyers from all around the world. You make a stop at the Japanese Covered Bridge, constructed more than 400 years ago to connect the Japanese community with the Chinese who lived on the other side of the water, and admire the carvings and paintings inside. At the Phuc Kien Chinese Assembly Hall there are bright gates, dragon statues and elaborate rooftops, with an introduction to ancestor worship at the family altar. You also visit some of Hoi An's well-known handicraft shops and artwork galleries and discover the smaller laneways and local neighbourhoods. In the afternoon you transfer to the airport for your flight to Siem Reap, where you are welcomed by your English-speaking guide and taken to your hotel for check-in or luggage drop-off; regular check-in time is after 14:00 and early check-in is not included.
Angkor Temples Highlight
A short drive brings you to Angkor Wat, where you learn how the Khmer Empire prospered between the 9th and 13th centuries, around the time the temple was built. You stroll through the intricately carved hallways and past small shrines still in use today by local people, then visit Ta Prohm, overgrown with fig trees whose roots have merged over the centuries with the temple's huge stone blocks. Lunch is on your own account. Late afternoon, explore Angkor Thom, the ancient royal city of the Khmer Empire, and its centrepiece the Bayon, where the enigmatic faces of former King Jayavarman VII look in every direction. Your guide takes you to the Terrace of the Elephants, the platform from which the King could welcome back his victorious army, and the Terrace of the Leper King, whose detailed carvings wind along a narrow passageway leading to the Baphuon complex.
